# Notable Differences from the Browser Extension

If you're familiar with the ZKX Wallet Extension, note the following differences in the Web App:

* **Account-type gating of privacy features.** The Extension documentation describes Private Mode, Shield, and Unshield as generally available. The Web App explicitly disables these features for accounts imported via private key only, requiring a recovery-phrase-based account instead - see Creating or Importing an Account.
* **More granular real-time feedback.** Flows such as mode switching, Shield/Unshield route selection (Fast/Slow), and Gasless toggles surface loading percentages and sync status messages directly in the interface, compared to the Extension's simpler step-by-step guide format.

If you're writing support responses or docs that apply to both products, confirm which surface (Extension vs. Web App) the user is on before pointing them to specific UI labels, since button names and flows are not always identical between the two.
